Gerald Collins Anderson was born October 9, 1979 in Lake Charles, La. to Ethel Anderson. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Straight Way Baptist under the leadership of the late Pastor Willie Stevens Jr. He attended Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff, La. Later Gerald moved his membership to the New Covenant Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Jimmy R. Stevens whom he loved dearly.
On Tuesday morning at 12:35 am, September 3, 2019 our God and creator looked down from Heaven and had compassion upon his suffering servant. God heard his cry and he pitied his every groan. He then sent to his rescue one of his angels to call him from labor to rest.. We loved him but his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ loved him more and has already prepared a place where he can rest in perfect peace.
Those left to miss his presence, but cherish his memories are his mother, Ethel Anderson; two brothers, Joshua Anderson of Brooklyn, New York and Howard C. Anderson of Lake Charles; his step-grandmother, Dorothy Jones of Moss Bluff, La.; one aunt, Alice Brown and uncle, Bobby Brown of Moss Bluff; one great great aunt, Geneva Robinson of Lake Charles, La.; six special cousins, Eric, Kevin, Van January, Aaron Brown, Donna Lamb of Lake Charles, Floyd Tillman of New Iberia; one god child whom he cherished, I'Lynn Rose.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Anderson and Arthur Anderson; his oldest brother, Edwin Anderson; his godparents, Felton January and Myrtis Anderson; aunt, Rose January and five uncles, Willie Lee, James Green, Levi, Floyd, and Miles Tillman.
