Raymond Love

Raymond "Ray" Love was born on June 20, 1947 to the late Mr. Wylie and Mabel Love.  Ray was the second to the oldest of eleven children.  He was the eldest of the five boys.  He departed this life on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, at the home of his special niece and nephew, Francis and Larry Cole.

Raymond Love was a graduate of Westend High School in Florence, Ala. in 1967.  He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967-1971, where he was honorably discharged with the rank of "Sergeant".  He returned home to become a graduate of Calhoun Community College in 1989.  He went on to complete his degree in Electrical Technology.  He was a member of the Mason in Florence, Ala.  He was employed by Reynold's Aluminum Alloys in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.  He moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1995, where he was employed as a laborer at Louisiana Lumber.

Raymond was a very generous man.  Many times he would open his home to house and feed anyone in need (even stray cats).  He loved his family dearly.  His hobbies were fishing, stripping copper from wires, and of course he was the "Master of Dominoes".  He spent many days in his yard with his many friends playing his favorite game (dominoes).  Raymond will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Wylie and Mabel Love, and three sisters, Geraldine Armstrong (Frank) of Lawton, Oklahoma, Carrie Love King (Tommy), and Juanita Roberts (Tommy).

He is survived by his wonderful wife, Mrs. Peggy Anderson Love; nine children, Ms. Carlotta love of Sheffield, Alabama, Ms. Carina Love, Mr. Shawn Love, Ms. Stacy Love, and Ms. Rochelle Love of Florence, Alabama, Ms. Denise Robinson, Mr. Dereus Qualls, and Mr. Raymond Ingram of Sheffield, Alabama, Mr. Joe Henry Jones of Lima, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Barbara Anderson of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Mrs. Landra Myres (Dale deceased) of Memphis, Tennessee, Ms. Cynthia Love of Lafayette, La.; four brothers, Mr. Elvin Love (Linda) and Mr. Michael Love (Debra) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Mr. Willie Joe Love (Jackie) of Lufkin, Texas and Mr. Christopher Love (Wanda) of Houston, Texas; special nephew and niece, Mr. Larry and Francis Cole of Lake Charles, Louisiana.  25 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews,close relatives and dear friends.
