Allean Morris Obituary

Allean Williams Morris was born on April 26, 1942 to the late Aline and Ross Williams Sr. in Bayou Chicot, Louisiana. After the passing of her mother, she was reared by her father and paternal grandmother, Sally Williams, whom she affectionately called, “Momma.”

Allean met and married the love of her life, John Clarence Morris on December 18, 1965. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Saint James Baptist Church, located in Bayou Chicot, Louisiana. In March 1978, she joined with Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. H.C. Allison and have been a faithful member serving under the leadership of Rev. Elmore Garner.

Allean loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and siblings; and besides the Lord, they were her greatest delight. She loved to gather with her children, family & friends. Allean’s sense of humor and ability to host large gatherings was second to none.  She was a wonderful host when relatives and friends would come over to visit. She made everyone feel welcomed and made sure they had something to eat, dessert or a cup of coffee.  She enjoyed giving and doing for others, that brought so much joy to her.

Her infectious smile and laugh could light up even the darkest of rooms.  She was a very strong woman and the pillar of our family.  She loved cooking, baking, bar-b-quing, sewing, puzzles, listening to gospel songs and gardening.  She was a plant lover and loved working in her flower beds. One of her favorite quotes was “I lean and depend on God.”

She was preceded in death by three brothers; Jerome Williams, Ross Williams Jr., and Robert Williams; two sisters; Betty Williams Tezeno and Gustavia Duhon; her paternal grandparents, Sally and Isiah Williams and one granddaughter, Kiana Morris.

Her legacy will continue through the memories of her loved ones; her husband of fifty-six years, John C. Morris; three sons, Lowell (Katina) Morris of Baytown, Texas, Neal (Sherrick) Morris and Dwayne Morris all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; three daughters, Colleen (Earl) Morris Boutte, Annette Morris both of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Anita Morris of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two brothers, Clyde Williams of Bayou Chicot, Louisiana and Donald Ray Robinson of New Mexico; one sister, Lou Ella Freeman of Lake Charles, Louisiana; one step-daughter, Shirley (Aaron) Adams of Fayetteville, Georgia; two stepsons, Ronald (Stephanie) Morris of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Barry (Tanya) Morris of Mableton, Georgia; nineteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a hosts of relatives and friends.
