Alvin Bradley Polk, Sr. 84, transitioned on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Born in Jeanerette, Louisiana on December 20, 1938, to George Polk (Sr.) and Lula Mae Bradley. Alvin was raised in Jeanerette, Louisiana where he attended Jeanerette High School. Following his graduation from Jeanerette High in 1961, Alvin later entered the U.S. Army and served between 1962 and 1982. He last served as a Medical Lab Specialist for the USA Meddac at Weed US Army Community Hospital in the Vietnam War. He was a hard worker, with an infectious laugh, and a knack for telling a good story. He loved to watch western movies, listen to old blues music, watch sports, and enjoyed spending time at the casino. Although his passing now leaves a void in the lives of his friends and family it would be Alvin’s hope that any sadness is brief, and that soon enough we will remember only the joy, love, humor, and happiness he brought to us all.
