Betty Jane Broussard Stewart, 91, was born November 30, 1933 in Beaumont, Texas to Clarence and Gladys (Hardy) Broussard. Although born in Beaumont, Texas, she lived the majority of her life as a resident of Lake Charles, LA.
On May 12, 1956, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Leroy Levi Stewart, Sr., and they remained happily married for 58 years until his passing on October 3, 2014.
Betty was known best for her undeniable love for her family. She enjoyed cooking, participating in family gatherings, playing Pokeno and dominoes, watching her Westerns, studying her bible, and last but not least, eating cheese puffs and tootsie roll pops, which she promised was the cure for all things!
Betty departed this life on Monday, August 4, 2025, where she was surrounded by family, friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her father and beloved bonus mother, Clarence (Orelia) Broussard, mother, Gladys Hardy White, her sons, Leroy Levi Stewart Jr., and Clarence Stewart, grandsons Marcus Stewart and Earl Stewart, and her granddaughter, Faith Hope Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Marvin (Brenda) White, Kenneth Wayne (Adonus) Stewart, Debra Jean Fontenot, Orelia Green, and Wanda Marie Fontenot, her sister, Bobbie (Greg) Jenkins, her brother, Anthony Green, her sister-in-law, Shirley Williams, her grandchildren, Kenneth Wayne Stewart Jr., Tyrone Stewart, Clarence Stewart Jr., Alexandra Zeno, Kimberly Bradburry, Brandi Bradury, Manissa Huddleston, Hildrege Chretien, LeShon Chretien, Leshunda Broussard, Markques Stewart, Rico Raymond, Landon Lemelle, Calvin (Karla) White, Pamela (Tommy) Thomas, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
