Today we gather not to mourn, but to celebrate the extraordinary life of a man whose infectious joy and boundless love brought light to every soul he touched.
Bobby Ray Johnson (AKA) OG Bobby Johnson age 70, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was a radiant light of happiness that will forever shine in our hearts.
A proud graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1975, where he was a phenomenal football player, and was on the track team where he was nicknamed as "Road Runner". After graduating high school Bobby went on to join the United States Military but due to a disability he was not able to serve in the military and went on a buddy agreement with his Brother Milton Johnson. Bobby worked various construction jobs.
Bobby had a flare and unique style of dressing. Bobby was an individual that was always dressed from head to toe. His clothes and shoes always matched. Bobby was always a clean and sharply dressed. Bobby had a passion for shopping. His favorite store was CITI TRENDS.
Bobby also had a passion for different kinds of music. Bobby was always the life of the party. Whether he had strength to stand up or if he was in his wheel chair he danced to the music. Bobby was loved by many. He would always be on Highway 14 in his wheel chair traveling doing his own thing, his illness didn't stop him from enjoying life. He lived life to the fullest.
Bobby was a faithful member of Old Emanuel Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ at an early age. Until the storms occurred Bobby started visiting various churches until his sickness.
Bobby leaves to cherish three brothers, Robert Lee (Lennett) Johnson, Milton (Veronica) Johnson, Harold Lee (Vickie) Johnson; five sisters, Rosetta Mitchell, Patricia Ann (Vincent) Wilson, Sharon (Josh) Louis, Debra (Kirt) Duhon, and Carolyn (Carlton) Ledet and a host of nieces, and nephews.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, S.D. Edward and Mary Johnson; brother, Edward Jr.' sister, Mary Ann Johnson, and nephew, Kerry Johnson.
