Clarence Joseph Stevens (Joe) was born July 19, 1961, to the late Clarence Stevens and Glory Mae Guillory-Stevens of Lake Charles, La. He was the fourth sibling out of eleven children. He joined Job Corp in Oklahoma at the age of 16. At the age of 19, he worked for the City of Lake Charles Transportation driving the city buses. While working for the city he met his now late ex-wife, Bernadette Landry. Clarence and Bernadette got married in 1986 and moved to Austin, Tx at the age of 21. He found his dream job working at St. Davis Medical Center in the food service department for over 33 years. After leaving St. Davis he worked at Quality Seafood as a delivery driver for 3 years. He enjoyed traveling from Houston to Galveston, Tx. everyday delivering quality seafood to his vendors. He loved sharing stories about his job, while the family enjoyed listening. His hobbies were; horseback riding, trail riding, cooking, listening to zydeco with the family while his great nieces would keep him dancing. He loved capturing moments by taking pictures and videos of family and friends. He was a man of God, he believed in praying everyday thanking God for his life and protecting his family. In his final days he was surrounded by his loved ones in person and through zoom calls.
Clarence (Joe) was preceded in death by both parents, Clarence Stevens and Glory Mae Guillory-Stevens; three sisters, Gloria Stevens, Sandra Stevens-Fuselier and Elizabeth Stevens; two brothers, Pastor John Stevens and Ray Stevens and one grandchild, Kyra Nichole Landry.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Lawrence Tezeno of Austin, Tx. and daughter, Natasha Landry-Harris (Kendrake) of Kyle, Tx.; five grandchildren, Paige, Isaiah, Deziar, Jordan, Symon and Jazmin; two sisters, Lucy Victorian of Pflugerville, Tx. and Janna Stevens of Westlake, La.; three brothers, David and Ricky Stevens of Lake Charles, La. and Eldridge Stevens of Austin, Tx.; one uncle, Curly Stevens of Lake Charles, La. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
