Cynthia Lin Soileau, 71, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, in her home in Lake Charles, Louisiana, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 16, 1954, and from the moment she entered this world, she brought with her a spirit defined by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering love for family.
When we talk about Cynthia, many words come to mind—kind, caring, loving—but the one that rises above all is family. She loved her family unconditionally; with the type of love everyone hopes to experience in their lifetime. No one was ever a stranger in her eyes. Once you met her, you became part of her heart, one of her children, someone she fiercely protected. She was the true definition of a mommy bear, and her presence made everyone around her feel safe, valued, and deeply loved.
Beyond her devotion to her family, Cynthia lived a life rich with passion and curiosity. She was a jack of all trades—landscaping, upholstery, painting, coloring, caring for animals, completing word searches, and constantly learning through her own research on plants and animals. She especially loved birds. Whatever she set her mind to, she mastered with grace, patience, and joy.
Living in this world will never be the same without her. But as she would always remind us, “we have to keep pushing because the world doesn’t stop.” No one could have prepared us to continue life without her beautiful soul growing old with us. We will never say goodbye—only until we meet again. We will forever cherish the memories she left with us here on earth.
We love you with our whole hearts, Cynthia. Continue watching over your angels. Knowing that we will never again hear your voice, your laugh, feel those big mommy hugs, or call you to say we made it safely—these are the pieces of you we will miss endlessly. Most of all, we will miss seeing your beautiful face.
Cynthia is survived by her loving husband, Elick Soileau, and her three children: Johnny Soileau, Jonathan Soileau, and Kristina Soileau.
Her legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in every life she touched.
