Daniel Howard Joseph Sr.

Daniel Howard Joseph Sr. was born February 21, 1943 to the late Hazel Joseph and Daniel Brown.  He was reared by his mother, Hazel (Joseph) Hawkins and stepfather the late George D. Hawkins Sr. together they gave him unconditional love and eight additional siblings.

Howard as he was affectionally called accepted Christ at an early age.  He was baptized by the late Reverend K.E. Robinson at Midway Baptist Church in Moss Bluff, La.  In his later years he returned to his beloved Midway Baptist Church and continued his spiritual journey under the pastorship of Pastor Joseph Welcome.

Howard was a jack of many trades, but he truly enjoyed his job as a long distance truck driver.  It can be said  Howard was a man that lived by his own rules and enjoyed his life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

On August 5, 2023 Daniel Howard Joseph Sr. departed this life surrounded by loved ones.

He leaves to cherish his memories; two sons, Daniel H. Joseph Jr. of Port Arthur, Tx. and Donnell (April) Joseph of Houston, Tx.; three brothers, Larry Hawkins of Lake Charles, La., Robert (Dessie) Hawkins of Houston, Tx. and Harry (Nancy) Hawkins of Shreveport, La.; one sister, Patricia (Glen) Hawkins of Los Angeles, Ca; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather; two brothers, George Hawkins and Wallace Hawkins; two sisters, Renee Hawkins and Jacquelyn Hawkins.
