Donovan Roy Citizen departed this life on Friday, June 14, 2019.
Donovan was born on November 19, 1990 to Vernette Citizen Varn and John W. Richard in Lake Charles, La. Donovan did not attend any church but confessed to his mother, Vernette that he had a relationship with Jesus. His favorite song was "Something about the name of Jesus".
Donovan attended LaGrange High School and later received his GED in 2015. Donovan loved playing basketball, listening to his music, hanging out with his big brother, Wesley and hanging out with family and friends.
Donovan was preceded in death by one baby sister, Jessica Citizen; his paternal grandfather and grandmother, Peter E. Richard and Etta Richard; and his maternal great grandmother, Cora James.
Donovan leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, J'Rielle Jones, Kailey Citizen, Harmonie and Haiden Citizen; his fiancee, Katreanna Fields; his mother, Vernette (Stanley) Varn; his father, John W. Richard.; one brother, Wesley J. (Shatarra) Citizen and their four children (goddaughter) Takerra, Trenatee, Traylon, and Tamia Citizen; one sister, Antasia C. Richard and her two children, Marquis J.M. and Elijah Z.O. Richard ; maternal grandmother, Betty Citizen; paternal grandfather, Albert Roy Citizen all of Lake Charles, La.; many uncles, aunts, and cousins from the Citizen and Richard families. Donovan "D.C." also leaves to cherish many friends; two godmothers, Marie Charles, Marquette Clark; two godfathers, Robert Sterlin, and Albert Roy Citizen. His middle school teacher-mentor, Dolly Gallow and her daughters, DeAndrea and Desiree'.
