Life at a Glance
Emma Stone was born on November 24, 1936 to the late Alfred Stone and Laura Henry in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Emma accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church in Washington, Louisiana and Rising Star Missionary Baptist in Oakdale, Louisiana. In 2015 through current she joined Good Hope Baptist Church in Westlake, Louisiana where she became a member and worshipped. Over the years she served as an Usher, Senior Mission Ministry and occasionally worked in the Kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Laura Henry and father, Al Stone; two brothers, Richard and Louis Henry Jr. and companion of many years, Freddie Hawkins and special favorite nephew, Anthony (Gerry) Red.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Donnell (Wilamina) Hawkins of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Kevin Hawkins of Hartford, Connecticut; one sister, Shirley Red of Lake Charles, Louisiana; three brothers, Lee Allen (Dorothy) Henry of Hartford, Connecticut and Lee Edward and Larry (Beverly) Henry of Lake Charles, Louisiana; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of beloved family and friends.
Emma will be forever remembered for her famous large meals, fish fries, baking around the holidays and playing cards (spades). We will also miss her strong prayers with constant encouraging words to family and friends.
