Ethel Goodman Obituary

                                                                                                           Ethel Lee Goodman

On Sunday, December 19, 2021 Ethel Lee Goodman transitioned home to be with her Heavenly Father.  She was living in Los Angeles, Ca. at the time of her passing.

Ethel Lee (Stevens) Goodman was born February 2, 1943 to Ethel Noel and Iseah Stevens in Holmwood, La.  The family later moved to Lake Charles, La.  Ethel being the oldest of nine girls was one that her younger sisters looked up to.  Early on in life she had a fear of God, being the daughter of a preacher, church was where she spent a lot of time.  In junior high, Ethel's talents began to show in areas of music.  Her father paid for her to learn to play the piano because he didn't have a pianist.  God blessed her hands, she was an artist that could draw cartoon characters, big beautiful houses, she wrote poems and learned how to cook by watching her mother.  She was such a loving big sister to her siblings and a big help to her parents.

Ethel moved to Los Angeles, Ca. in the 60's.  She never forgot about her family.  The house phone would ring often with calls from her, checking on all of us.

She met and married the late ElQue Washington Jr. and began her family.  Later she married Robert (Bob) Goodman in 1988 and they remained married until her death.  She gave birth to four children, but she really was a mother to many more.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Iseah and Ethel Stevens and two sisters, Juanita Stevens and Gladys Joseph.

Ethel leaves to cherish her memory:  her husband of 33 years, Robert A. (Bob) Goodman; daughters, LaTunya M. Washington, Tara N. Lawson and Tascha N. Washington; son, Tyrone (Serina) Goodman; step children, Linda and Darnell Martin, Stefanie Moore, Sheila G. Williams and Tony Goodman; her sisters, Rose Walker, Martha (Louis) Basile, Deidre Ford and Errika Simien all of Lake Charles, La., Mary (Earl) Jones of Humble, Tx. and Elaine Stevens of Los Angeles, Ca.; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.
