He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Matthews; one son, Maynard (Tan) Matthews; one sister, Linda Starlard and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends,

He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Edwards; first wife, Mary Catherine (Cat);  sisters, Roberta Cotlong, Mildred Bellard, Jessie Parsons, Elva Williams, Betty Van Buren and one brother, Robert Hartman
