Harry Joseph Obituary


Harry Douglas Joseph (Magic Man) began his life's journey on February 1, 1952.  He was the youngest child born to the late McKinley Joseph and Mazie William Joseph. He was preceded in death by two sisters Bernice Dorsey and Marie Joseph, three brothers Earl Robinson, McKinley Joseph Jr and James (Jimmy) Joseph.


Harry graduated from Peabody High School in Alexandria. La. He moved to Lake Charles in 1970 where he was hired as a drummer in a local band for about two years. 
He heard the Gospel of Christ and was baptized and added to the body of the Mill Street Church of Christ by Bro. Carl Gaines.  He left the band and began working for Certainteed Plant in Westlake,La.  He stayed there for several years where he also served in the work of the church.
He moved to Houston, TX. where he moved his church membership to the Third Ward Church of Christ.  He was a faithful member until moving back to Lake Charles in 2010 where he worked as a Car Salesman for several years and as a Truck Driver until he retired in 2019.
Harry has always like entertaining and found his talent for Magic after seeing a Magic show performed in Houston.  He has performed at different churches doing vacation bible school, summer camps, high school reunion, and many other places including the Lake Charles Civic Center.


His legacy lives on thru his son Jermine Paul Pete (Joseph), grandson Justice Paul Pete, nephews Troy D. Davidson and Kristopher D. Stewart.
His nieces Monica Dorsey Washington, Judy Dorsey, Erica Dorsey Murray, Candance Blissett (Will) and Earika Robinson, a host of Great Nieces and Nephews, other relatives and friends.
