Horace Rideau was born August 16, 1951, in Lafayette, Louisiana to the late Murphy Rideau and Elizabeth Gallien Rideau. He departed this life on Thursday, December 11, 2025 surrounded by his loving wife, daughter, and family.
He was raised attending Sacred Heart Catholic School and Church. He was a current member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Horace attended W. O. Boston High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marines. He also served his country in the Vietnam War. After his military served, he worked for the City of Lake Charles. He also worked for BFI in Houston, Texas.
Horace will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Susie Rideau and his daughter, Marcie Rideau. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished relatives and friends.
He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Larry Perodin (Vendoria), Leo Landry, sisters-in-law, Gail Thomas, Bonnie Hawley (Steve), and Alice Joseph (Michael).
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Mason Rideau; his sisters, Ruby Landry, and Teresa Rideau.
