James Ray Taylor, affectionately known by many nicknames including Lil Ray, Jim T, Jimmy T, and JT, left a lasting impression on those who knew him. James was born on August 7, 1974, in Lake Charles, LA, to Annie Laura Taylor and Willie Ray Rosamore. He graduated from Washington Marion High School (Class of 93).
After spending a few years at Southern University, James returned to Lake Charles and embarked on a new journey as a dedicated casino dealer. Later, he pursued his dream of becoming an over-the-road driver, mastering the highways and byways of the country. During this adventurous phase of his life, he crossed paths with Tonya Reado, the love of his life. Together, they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Ja'Nya and Jordyn Taylor, who became the center of his world. In addition to his daughters, James was also a loving father to Brianna Lambert and Kyndall Labove, whom he cherished dearly. His love and devotion extended to his entire family, leaving an unforgettable mark on their hearts.
James's daughter, Brianna, brought even more joy by giving him two precious grandchildren, Ma'khalian West and L'zaevion Thorne. Although, James did not have the opportunity to spend as much time with his grandchildren as he would have liked, their presence in his life brought immense happiness and pride.
James is survived by his wife, Tonya Taylor; his four children: daughter Brianna, Ja'Nya, Jordyn, and son Kyndall; sisters, Marco and LaKecha, nephew Marco Miguel; grandmother Bessie Rosamore; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as close friends, too many to mention by name but who will forever be a part of James's life and family.
James was a devoted husband and father, cherishing his role as the head of his loving family. Whether traveling to new destinations, spending quality time together, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen, James cherished these moments with his loved ones.
One of James's greatest passions was his deep-rooted love for the Dallas Cowboys. A die-hard fan through and through, he wore the star on his heart and cheered for his team with unrelenting enthusiasm. His Sundays were dedicated to watching the Cowboys play, and he reveled in friendly banter with friends about their team rivalries. As he made his final arrangements, James's wish was to be laid to rest in his cherished Cowboys Jersey, a testament to his lifelong dedication to the team he loved so dearly. James Taylor will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His laughter, kindness, and love will remain in our hearts forever.
May James rest in eternal peace, knowing that he left a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to thrive in the hearts of his loved ones.
