Obituary

Jean Evelyn (Lewis) Amos, 85, the eldest of seven brothers and sisters was born August 27, 1937 in Lake Charles, La.  She departed this life on May 19, 2023, after an extended illness while living in Lake Charles, La.  Jean was predeceased by her parents, Inez Lewis-Golden and James (Jimmy) Lewis Sr. both of Lake Charles, La.

Jean was married to William Amos Sr. of Columbia, SC to that union three children were born, William Amos Jr. (Katrina) and Sonja St. Julien both of VInton, La., LaTasha Jones (Johnny) of Las Vegas, NV.  She is survived by her brother, Theral Golden of Long Beach, Ca., Thalia Renfro and Cheryl Golden both of Vinton, La. and Beverly Jones of Birmingham, AL; six grandchildren, Keila DiCarlo, Dimitri Amos, DeAndre Victorian, Jalen Crittenden all of Las Vegas, NV and Marissa and Lloyd (Tony) St. Julien of Vinton, LA. and a host of of great grands.

Jean lived for extended periods of time in Lake Charles, LA., Columbia, SC, Las Vegas, NV and Vinton, LA. During these times she worked in the Construction Industry, Movie Industry (appearing in the movie Pay It Forward), Retail Sales, and as a Mutual Clerk, where she met many lifelong acquaintances and friends.  Her interests including Crocheting, Solitary, and spending time with her friends.
