Brother Jesse Victorian, Sr. was born on August 11, 1929, to the union of Batiste and Matilda Victorian. He passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Landmark of Lake Charles.
He married Lena Mae Vital on January 21, 1950, and together they had eleven (11) children. Brother Jesse received the Holy Ghost in January of 1989 and was a faithful member of Refuge Temple Ministries.
Some of his hobbies were fishing, gardening, cleaning fish for others, yard work and cooking. He loved horses and rodeos. In his younger life, he even participated in some rodeos.
He was a very hard working man, who believed in providing for his family. He started farm work with Sweet Lake Land & Oil Company to help support his parents, and he continued after marriage to support his own family.
He continued farm work until 1988 after the death of his loving wife. He then moved to Lake Charles to live with his oldest daughter and he became Paw Paw to almost every child on the street. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend (and he loved speaking French).
Brother Jesse started doing yard work and as people passed by, they saw the great job he was doing, and they would ask him to take care of their yards. He never said no! He would walk pushing his lawn mower around the Terrance to cut grass. Later on, his neighbor, Charles Bourgeois, got with him and they started their own grass cutting business, traveling around Lake Charles and even out of town. This kept him busy and happy. He also loved to cook, and cook he did until his health prevented him from continuing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Batiste and Matilda Victorian; his wife, Lena Mae (Betty) Victorian; his sons, Jesse Victorian, Jr. and Lloyd Anthony Victorian; his daughter, Lautha Marie Victorian; two sisters and six brothers.
He is survived by his sister, Ruth Dugar; his children, Rena Cahee (Harral Cahee), Susan Wilson (Bishop Leonard Wilson, Sr.), Larry Victorian (Melanie), Ray Victorian, Cassia LaDay (Pastor Adam LaDay, Jr.), Bernetta Victorian, Jimmie Victorian (Barbara), and Pernella Sinegal. He is the proud grandfather of twenty-six (26) grandchildren, forty-seven (47) great grandchildren and four (4) great-great grandchildren. Brother Jesse will truly be missed!
