Katherine Clara (Stanton) Washington

Katherine (Kathy) C. Stanton Washington was born February 19, 1957 in Lake Charles, La. to Denece E. Carrier and Leron Stanton.

Kathy was a 1975 graduate of Washington High School.  She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles,  in which she raised her three children; Keshia, Kelly, and Joshua.

Through out her life she worked many places.  None as fulfilling as working for R T R Tax Preparation owned by her niece, Jada Redmond.  She loved her family so much that she could be found at their homes cleaning, cooking, washing and or ironing their clothes.  Whatever she could do to help her family or her church; she would do it lovingly.  Her grandchilden and great grandchildren were the loves of her life.  When she was given the opportunity to raise her granddaughter Joslyn Thomas, she took on the challenge.

She became an ordained minister on April 22, 2018 at Trinity Full Gospel Ministries under Apostle Roderick and Theresa Henry.  She took her calling serious and was a great Minister.  She never missed an opportunity to tell of the goodness of Jesus and where he brought her from.  She was always willing to do what she could for others.  Giving cards for all occasions and cooking the best green beans in Lake Charles, she will be greatly missed and always remembered by her church family.

Preceding her in death was her father, Leron Stanton; her mother, Denece Carrier; her brother, William (Bill) Thomas and her sister, Frankie Roberts.

She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Julia (Clifton) August of Lake Charles, La.; one daughter, Keshia Adams of Lake Charles, La.; two sons, Kelly Stanton of Lake Charles, La. and Joshua Stanton of Phoenix, Az and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
