On April 3rd, 2024 an angel of silence was dispatched to usher Kenneth Wayne Payne into a period of rest. He was born May 31st, 1964 in Sulphur, Louisiana.
He was baptized at an early age by Rev. Berkley Crawford Garrett.
He attended Sulphur High School and was a former employee of Silver Construction and J.C. Penny Company.
He married Melba Jasmine and to this union was born Octavia L. Jasmine, Kendrick W. Payne and ShaKelia Payne.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Kendrick Wayne (Amber) Payne; two daughters, Octavia LaShay Jasmine and ShaKelia (Anthony) McFadden; six grandchildren, Dominicka Dyer, Sa'Niya Payne, Darien Jasmine, Kyree Payne, Zayne McFadden and Zayden McFadden; mother, Vera J. Payne; one sister, Kenya Payne Cowen; two half sisters, Ramona D. Gary and Amanda Baker; grandfather, Morris Prater and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles,, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilford J. Payne; maternal grandmother, Irene Vincent Prater; paternal grandparents, Wilson (Anna Lee) Payne Sr.' and second wife, Phillis Randal Payne.
