Kerney "Dave" David Brown

Kerney David Brown was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the union of Mildred H. Brown and Kerney Brown.  David was born on February 20, 1965 and departed this life on his birthday February 20, 2023.  David was 58 years old.

At a young age David moved with his family to Houston, Texas, where his roots in the Baptist church began. The family moved back to Lake Charles when David was a teenager where he attended Straightway Baptist Church.  After graduating from LC Boston High School, David joined the United States Army and worked as a Combat Engineer E4.  David also served in Desert Storm.

At the  time of this death David was employed at Louisiana Mill Works as a supervisor.

David was a devoted son, brother, fantastic uncle, cousin, friend and a dedicated child of God.  His passion was being there for his siblings and helping to mentor young people.  Teaching them the basic skills of life and sports.  His love of basketball was his secret to mentoring kids.  David was always willing to help anyone in need.  Need a hand David was there in a minute.  David will always be missed and loved.

Davis is survived by his siblings:  Ermon B. Davis Jr. (wife, Sheila Davis), Damon C. Brown and Daphne Hawkins.

Davis was preceded in death  by :  his parents, Mildred Hawkins Brown and Kerney Brown.
