Born prematurely, he weighed only 3 pounds 6 ounces at birth, yet from the very beginning he showed the strength, determination, and will to survive that would define his life. He later made his home in Lake Charles, LA.

Lee graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1974, where he ran track and cross country, earning numerous first-place awards at both the local and state level. He was a man of many skills and great determination. Over the years, he worked as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, and mechanic, taking pride in his ability to fix, build, and create with his hands. His generosity and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on everyone blessed to know him.

Lee accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the river at Straightway Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Willie Stevens, Jr. He later moved to Lake Charles, LA where he joined Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, and eventually transitioned his membership to New Covenant Faith Baptist Church, both under the leadership of Pastor Jimmy R. Stevens. At New Covenant Faith, he was a member of the Male Chorus, one of the founding members of the Covenant Warriors, and the founder of the Valentine Social. His faith remained an important part of his life and guided the way he lived and loved.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Jones, his father, Lee Rogers Jones, Sr., and his grandson, Teagan Joseph Allison.

Lee is survived by his two devoted daughters, Deinika Qunetta Jones of Lake Charles, LA, and Ieshia Aaliyah Jones of Jacksonville, FL; and his cherished grandchildren, Lailonnie Denise Jones and Armond Lee Jones. He also shared 37 years of marriage with Debra Malveaux Jones, with whom he lovingly raised his children. His “grand-dogs,” Rose Marie Jones and Kainner Lee Jones, also held a special place in his heart. Along with his own children, Lee was a father figure to his foster children and many other children who were all blessed by his love and guidance.

He is also survived by his loving and devoted mother Esther Martin Jones, his siblings: Etta Faye Jones, Roy Lee (Brenda) Jones, Sr., Betty (Sam) Roberson, Carl Michael Jones, Charlotte (Anthony) Miller, and Earl (Deidre) Jones, Sr.

Lee will be remembered most for his hard working spirit, his devotion to family, and the lessons he passed down to future generations. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he loved.
