On Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 12:06 p.m., with special orders in hand from the Master, the angels of the Lord took flight to Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana and escorted Linton to his eternal home.
Linton was the 6th child born to the union of Linton Thomas, Sr. and Waverly Poullard Thomas in Ville Platte, Louisiana on Monday, March 13, 1950. He was baptized at an early age at St. John Baptist Church in Ville Platte and received his education from James Stephens High School.
In 1969, Linton decided to enter his adulthood by joining the Army. He served his country from October 1, 1969 to August 30, 1976 and was honorably discharged. Once discharged from the Army, Linton moved to Texas and began his long distance truck driving career until his retirement. Once he retired, he decided to make Lake Charles, Louisiana, home until the time of his death.
Linton enjoyed driving his big rigs, being around family and friends, trail rides, telling stories, and riding around in his pick-up truck listening to his blues. Linton had a special relationship with each niece and neither was the same. Linton was known by many names, but the one he loved and enjoyed most of all was bring called G-Daddy by all of his grandkids.
Filled with empty wells of loneliness will be his children: Kevin Thomas (Leander, Texas), Terrell Thomas (Norfolk, Virginia), David (Shounda) Roy (Ville Platte, Louisiana), Heather Thomas (Houston, Texas), Ramona Thomas (Humble, Texas), and Anita Simon (Dallas, Texas); siblings, Shirley Garlow (Plano, Texas), Mary Thomas (Lake Charles, Louisiana), Barbara (Mitchell) Moss (Garland, Texas), Gladys (James) Myles (Ville Platte, Louisiana), and Michael Thomas (Lake Charles, Louisiana); special nieces and nephew, Valarie Thomas, Phil and Teffinia Mitchell; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Linton was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: D L, Ronald, and Jesse; and one son, Dwayne Francois.
