Lou Ester Green

Lou Ester Green, 98, departed this life peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, April 28th, 2024.  She was surrounded by her family and friends in the comfort of her own home.

She was born on November 12, 1925, in Opelousas, LA, but called Lake Charles home for 75 years.  She owned and operated her own salon for over 40 years, was a lifelong learner, and was a beloved member of her church and community.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Melvin Green.  

She leaves to cherish her memory her five children: Margie (Octave) Jacques of Orange, TX, Calvin (Evelyn) Green of San Antonio, TX., Verna (Bobby) Stagg of Pittsburg, CA, Beverly (Kenneth) Deruso of Denver, CO and Debra Green (Derrick) of Lake Charles; 14 grandchildren: Renee, Felicia, Mark, Rickey, Sheila, Peaches, Tisha, Zuri, Ashley, Ahmand, Theron, Samiayah, Reggie, and Darius; and a host of great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
