Mary Elizabeth Pickney, a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, entered eternal rest on June 1, 2026, at the age of 71.
She was born on April 29, 1955, in Beaumont, TX to the Union of Adam and Gloria Mae Pickney.
She accepted Christ at an early age.
Under the spiritual guidance of the late Rev. David Miles of Starlight Baptist Church where she served in several ministries including the Usher Ministry, Mission Department, Children Church Ministries, and the Prayer Department.
She was a graduate of Washington High School (1973) and furthered her education at Delta School of Business and Drafting in 1985.
She was United in holy matrimony to Johnson Tony Aniboh, and to this union one daughter was born, Gabrielle Elizabeth Aniboh.
After moving back to Lake Charles, LA. Mary worked for the Department of Children and Families Services for Child Protection, for 19 years.
She was preceded by her parents, Adam and Gloria Mae Pickney, brothers Larry and Stephon Pickney, and her grandmothers Beatrice Payne Pickney and Elizabeth Lute.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Derrick Wayne Pickney (Evelyn)of Ball,La;Gabrielle Elizabeth Aniboh of Lake Charles, LA her beloved aunt, Eula Mae Carmon of Lake Charles, la. Her loving Grandchildren who called her “Granny”: Aaron, Raven, Josiah and George. Her Nephew Andrew (Angela) Scott of Sugar-land, TX.
She will also be remembered with love by Goddaughter Patricia Schlesinger-Bennett, a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
