Patricia Patrick Obituary

Patricia Ann Patrick passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 30, 2025, after a brave battle with cancer.  She faced every challenge in life with quiet resilience and unshakeable faith.

Patricia was born on June 5, 1958 at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah, LA.  Growing up beside her two sisters, Ethelyn Gail Nibblett (deceased) and Deborah Nibblett, Patricia deeply valued family  and strong connections.  At an early age she received Christ as her Lord and Savior, while attending New Light Missionary Baptist Church in Tallulah, LA where the pastor was Rev. G.C. Cobbs.  She later joined Union Missionary Baptist Church #2, in Sondheimer, LA.  She maintained unwavering faith and commitment to the Word of God, later joining the Christ Community Church, in St. Charles, Illinois.

Patricia proudly earned her high school diploma in 1976 from Lake Providence Senior High School.  She decided to pursue higher education at Grambling State University, thereafter, pursuing her professional career as a paralegal in Southwest Louisiana. Subsequently, she returned to Maple Park, Illinois to be closer to her parents.

Patricia enjoyed spending quality time with family discussing current events and politics. She found enjoyment in watching movies and keeping up with daily news and current events. She literally has never met a stranger.  Her kindness and warmth were hallmarks of every interaction, brightening the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Whenever she had time alone, she would spend those moments mulling the possibility of creating some new innovative project.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving parents, Gertrude and Johnny Scott, of Maple Park, IL; three children, Chasity Kee (Derrick) of Lake Charles, LA, Robert Patick, Jr. of Maple Park, IL, and Ashantai Hathaway (Vincent) of Columbia, MD; eight (8) grandchildren, Derrick, Jr., Ragan, Devin, Darien, Saidey, Haven, Vincent, Jr., and Ethan; one sister, Deborah Nibblett of Monroe, LA; grandfather, Abe Wiggins of Sondheimer, LA; one aunt, Dorothy Wines of Dolton, IL; three nieces and one nephew; and a host of cousins, friends and loved ones.  Patricia is preceded in death by her sister, Ethelyn Gail Nibblett and her grandmother, Idell Wiggins.
