Sis. Paulette was born in Lake Charles, La to the late Rose Lee Simon and George Cromwell. She attended Elementary, Middle, and High School in Calcasieu Parish. She was a proud graduate of W O Boston High School, class of 1964.
She met and married Mr. James Bill, Sr., at the age of sixteen. They remained married until his passing. Sis. Paulette married Mr. Arthur Eglin on December 31, 1999 and remained with him until his passing. She was employed by the Calcasieu Parish School Board for many years as a cook and bus aide. She was a member of New Covenant Faith, where she served faithfully in the Usher Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and Sunday School Class A. She participated in the Senior Adult Dance Ministry, the Senior Ministry, and Food Pantry.
Sis Paulette also was a member of the City-Wide Ushers. Always showing love and compassion for others, she was a member of the Classy Ladies, whose main focus was giving back and serving the community. For many years, she served as Secretary for this organizations.
Her hobbies include a love for music, a love for cooking, a love for dressing beautifully. She was also an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints.
Sis. Paulette was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Lee Simon, father, George Cromwell, husbands, James Bill, Sr., and Arthur Eglin, and her grandson Corey Syas, and great-grandson, Charles Devon Hamilton.
Sis. Paulette leaves to cherish her memories , her children, James (Lorraine ) Bill Jr, Kevin Bill Sr, Chasity (Myron) Miller, and Chadrick Beaver. Her sister, Mrs. Lorraine Holmes, and brother Sidney (Helen) Beaver. Also cherishing her memories are her nine grandchildren- Jessica Nelson, Chris Says, Kevin Bill Jr, Shekelia Bill, Charles Hamilton, Quianna Hamilton, Kemani Pullard, K’dynce Gotch, and Keira Gotch, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Sis. Paulette also leaves a host of loyal friends, other relatives, and dear church members, whom she loved, and that love was reciprocated until she departed this earth.
