It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward Lee Jordan, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and cherished member of the community. He went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2025, at the age of 73.
Edward was born in Poplarville, Mississippi, on October 27, 1952. A steadfast Christian, he lived a life rooted in faith, love, and service. His mission was to be a loving husband and father and to bring as many souls to Christ as possible.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Catherine Jordan, and his children: LaToya Jordan, Sarah Dorsey, Sydne’ Harrison, Shekinah Jordan, Faith Jordan, Angel Jordan, Margaret Jordan, and Isaac Jordan and seven loving grandchildren . He is also survived by his siblings: Albert C. Fairley, Delores Henry, Queen E. Richard Bey, Loray Jordan Sr., Nathan H. Jordan, Clinton T. Jordan, and Beverly A. Jordan, and his aunt, Vera Bullock of Jacksonville, Mississippi and several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Edward graduated from Poplarville High School in 1971 and Southern University A&M College in 1975. He served 40 years as a Chief Operator at the Citgo Refinery.
A founder of the Bayou Classic Christian Fellowship of Southwest Louisiana, Edward served as a community evangelist and Minister at Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he was a pillar of the prison ministry.
A celebration of life will be held at Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, 910 N. Shattuck St., Lake Charles, LA. Viewing will be from 9:00–11:00 AM, with service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
