Rev. Joseph Henry Carston

Joseph Henry Carston was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on December 31, 1957 to the late Joseph and Annie Carston.  On Saturday, May 8, 2021 God called him home with his loving wife by his side at the Christus Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital.  His  brothers; Harold, Huray, Bennie Roy, Robert and Patrick Carston and three sisters; Annie Bell Tousan, Ora Mae Nelson and Barbara Thomas preceded him in death.

He was employed at Christus Ochsner St. Patrick for more than thirty years.  He met and married the former Patsy Jackson on December 15, 2000.

Joseph was a very spirtual person and loved serving and praising the Lord.  He was a member of Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church and New Covenant Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Jimmy Stevens.  On February 19, 2012, he united with the Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Elmore Garner.  During his membership at Mount Calvary, he was an Associate Minister, sang in the Men Day Chorus, served faithfully as a teacher in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Discipleship Class and I am a Church Member Class.  He was also a lecturer during our annual Brotherhood Revival.  Whenever asked to serve in any capacity of his church, his answer was always Yes!

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of twenty years, Patsy Carston; one daughter, Ashley (Desi) Jacobs-Linton of Raleigh, N .C.; two step daughters, Ashley (Jeremy) Jack of Lake Charles, La. and Juliette (David) Semien of Zachary, La.; one step son, Pastor Theron (Rhonda) Jackson of Shreveport, La.; one brother, Ricky Paul "Chicken" Carston of Lake Charles, La.; one sister, Betty J. Carston of Lake Charles, La,.; fourteen grandchidlren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends.
