Sylvia "CB" Janet (Prater) Smith

Sylvia  Janet Prater Smith was born on February 26, 1954, to the late Joyce Prater and Austin Prater in Sulphur, LA. CB accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age under the leadership of RL. White.

CB attend Mossville Elementary and Westlake High. CB married Robert Smith on June 20, 1970. To this union two children were born; Shavon Smith and Thaddeus Smith.

CB was a member of the Adult choir, Matrons and was the church Secretary for many years.

She was an employee of Calcasieu Marine National for over 18 years. She also was a long-term employee at Cameron State Bank as an AVP for the Payroll Department until her health begin to fail her in 2009.

CB’s hobbies were, watching Lifetime TV and shopping, especially at Kmart. Whenever you saw CB, you were always greeted with a beautiful smile.

CB departed this earthly life on October 14, 2023, at 11:23 am at Landmark in Lake Charles, LA.

Preceding CB in death are; her husband, Robert Smith, her mother and father; Joyce Edwards Prater, Austin Prater, one brother; Claude Joseph and one sister; Portia Carter.

Left to cherish her memories are, one daughter; Shavon (Casey) Robinson of Lake Charles, LA, one son; Thaddeaus (Jenitra) Smith of Little Elm, Texas,  four grandchildren; Donaven Smith of Fort Johnson, La., Aron Smith of San Francisco, Ca, Micah Smith of Little Elm, Tx. and Ilona Crittenden; one sister, Beverly (Ricky) Deville of Lake Charles, La. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
