Tomica Monique Nash-Brown, 41, was born on October 10, 1978 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late Sheila Jackson-Schexnayder and the late Lionel Fobbs. Tomica departed this life on July 24, 2020.
Tomica was a native of Iowa, Louisiana but was a resident of Lake Charles for many years. Tomica was a 1997 graduate of Iowa High School. Tomica was a lifelong member of Refuge Temple Ministries. Tomica worked various jobs but was currently employed by Lowe’s of Lake Charles for several years.
Tomica was united in Holy Matrimony to Odin T. Brown, Sr. and to this union two beautiful children were born, Kyleigh Monet’ Brown in 2005 and Kaylon Lawrence Brown in 2007. Tomica loved her family very dearly. She was known for her contagious laugh and outgoing personality.
Tomica was preceded in death by her parents, Sheila Jackson-Schexnayder and Lionel Fobbs. Her maternal grandparents Neal and Gertrude Jackson. Her paternal grandparents Clinton Fobbs, Sr. and Macleita Fobbs and her little brother, Tommie “Spoonie” Schexnayder, II.
Tomica leaves many precious memories with her husband, Odin T’Challa Brown, Sr. of Lake Charles and her children Kyleigh and Kaylon Brown, both of Lake Charles. She also leaves the children she gained by love and marriage, who she loved very dearly, Tahjae Brown of Jennings and Odin Brown, Jr. Of Lake Charles.
She also leaves loving memories with her siblings, Lawrence Nash (Jeanie) of Iowa, Charles Nash (Lisa) of Vancouver, WA, Tiffany Reeder (Jermaine) of Denton, TX, Dawanna Fobbs, of Dallas, Tx, Myrna Johnson and Ollie Rogers, both of Houston, TX. Tomica also leaves her step-father, Tommie Schexnayder (Carol) of Beaumont, TX.
Tomica also leaves her beloved godchildren, Jaylyn Dugas of Iowa and Asijona Avie of Lake Charles. Tomica will always be cherished by her godparents, Priscilla Bevel of Port Arthur, TX and Sherman Jackson of Iowa. Tomica also leaves her father-in-law and mother-in-law Calvin Brown and Carol Pete.
She will always be loved and cherished by her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the staff of Lowe’s in Lake Charles.
