Vayda M. (Mayo) Shankle

Vayda M."Mayo" Shankle 72 departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018.

Vayda was a longtime resident, of Mossville, La. before moving to Lake Charles.  She was a member of Philadelphia COGIC.  Vayda was well known in her community as an active athlete in the softball arena.

She is survived by one daughter, Melcha R. (Ottric) Lymon of Orange Park, Fl.; one brother, Ron Fowlkes of Lake Charles, La.; two grandchildren, Ottric and Theron Lymon of Orange Park, Fl.; special nephew who was like a son, Zacharius Mayo of Houston, Tx.; three nephews, two nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
