Verdie was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and she was a native of Cameron Parish.  She was born to the late Jim and Roberta West Reed of Cameron, Louisiana on July 13, 1956.

Verdie’s family moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana after hurricane Audrey and she resided in Lake Charles most of her life until a year ago.  She moved to Texas with her companion and stayed there until her death.

She attended school in Lake Charles, Louisiana at Riverside Elementary School and Marion High School.

Verdie later met Albert Doucet, Sr., with whom she bore child, Jermaine (Suga) Reed; later, she married Harold (Heavy) Sarver, Sr., with whom she bore two children, Katrina Sarver and Harold (Jack) Sarver, Jr.  Many years later, she married John B. Daniels.

She attended BTS School of Nursing where she was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).  She worked at Lake Charles Care Center, Resthaven, Oak Park Care Center, Holly Hill Care Center and Gobert’s Registry.

Verdie was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Reed and Roberta West Reed; brother, Leroy Reed; sisters, Castine (Edward) Trent and Kathy Reed; aunts, Angelina Bartie, Erma Bargeman, and Mae West; uncles, Clarence West, Charles West, and Joseph West; son, Harold (Jack) Sarver, Jr.; and God child, Byron Trent.

Verdie leaves to cherish her memory two (2) children, Jermaine (Toyya Greene) Reed and Katrina Sarver; one (1) sister, Irene R. Bellard (Kenny Mason); four (4) brothers, Jim (Betsy) Reed, Curly (Kat) Reed, Elbert (Geraldine) Reed, and Gable (Marilyn) Reed; two (2) stepchildren, LaKeisha Doucet and Albert (Tiffany) Doucet, Jr.; two (2) aunts, Dorothy West Mayne and Geneva West Prater; one (1) uncle, Willie West; her ten (10) grandchildren, Keylon, Todd, Jason, Harold, De’Andre, Nathan, Jermaine, Myra, India, and Alexis; ten (10) great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
