"Well done, good and faithful servant."-Matthew 25:23
With grateful hearts, we celebrate the remarkable life of Wanda Marie Glaspie, who passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025. Born on April 1, 1949 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Wanda lived a life full of faith, family, and love-and she remained a proud resident of Lake Charles her entire life.
Wanda was a woman of incredible strength and deep compassion. For seven courageous years, she fought a private battle with lung cancer, never complaining, never wavering in her faith. Her resilience was a quiet testimony to God's grace. Even through her pain, she continued to pour love into her family, radiating joy and peace to everyone around her. A devoted mother and proud grandmother, Wanda found her greatest joy in her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, sharing laughter, wisdom, and unforgettable moments. She was the loudest cheerleader at family milestones and a comforting presence in every hard moment.
Wanda was passionate about football-especially her beloved New Orleans Saints. Sundays were sacred, spent watching the game and shouting at the screen with joy or frustration (depending on the score). She also had a gift for catching a good deal while shopping, decorating her home beautifully, and loving animals of all kinds.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Terrance Don Glaspie, her mother, Lillian Evans, her sisters, Windy Young and Rosa Hebert, and her brother, Joseph Williams.
Her legacy lives on through her daughter, Chardae Narcisse, her son, Richard Glaspie, and her son in law, Kenneth Narcisse. She leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Zoe Glaspie, Tevin Guillory, Ajah Albro, Joshua Glaspie, and Jazlynn Zeno, who will always carry her love in their hearts. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and her lifelong friends, Sherry Butler, Julie, Michelle, and Beulah Bell, who brought her joy and unwavering friendship through the years.
A Life Remembered, A Heart Never Forgotten
Wanda taught us how to love deeply, laugh freely, and walk by faith. Her strength quiet but powerful, her love was endless, and her legacy will continue in every life she touched. Through we will miss her physical presence, we find peace knowing that she is resting in the arms of her Savior, free from pain, and full of glory.
