Wilda Hutchinson Obituary

Wilda Lee Cross Hutchinson 79 was born on July 25, 1941 in Iowa, La. to the late Allen Paul (Beulah Mary Mitchell) Cross Sr.  She accepted Christ at an early.  She was a lifelong member of United Christian Fellowship. under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Mayo Sr.  Wilda became increasingly passionate about serving God, and had no problem helping others know him also.  She was a God-Fearing women.

Wilda was a native of Iowa, Louisiana.  She attended Washington High School.

Wilda had a passion for taking care of others, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant at an early age.  In between taking care of the elderly, she also sat with the children in UCF'S daycare.  She loved each of the babies as if they were her own grandchildren.  Wilda affectionately known as mom or mawmaw by many.  She continued working at various nursing facilities until she became a private sitter.  Wilda retired at the youthful age of 71.

She will always remembered for her strong compassion for family as well as friends.  When it came to fashion, let's just say she would be in her Sunday's Best, on any given day.  She was known for her sense of humor as well as not being soft spoken.

Wilda was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Robert Lee Hutchinson Jr.  They were a union for 22 years.  Of this union they had three children.  She was a good wife to her husband he never spoke ill of her.  She would awaken early to make certain she provided for her family.  She was adored by her family especially her children.  Wilda was a Counselor she taught her children to speak up for those  who could not speak for themselves, for the rights of all were destitute speak up and judge fairly defend the rights of the poor and needy.  Wilda was the matriarch of her family.  (Insert from her son Darwin) * Momma you may not be the world's #1 mother, but you are miles ahead of whomever is in 2nd place *

Our beloved Wilda leaves to cherish her loving memories, her daughter, Janice Cross of Iowa, La.; two sons, Robert Lee (Monica) Hutchinson III of Alexandria, La. and Darwin Hutchinson of Iowa, Lal; one brother, Andrus (Lena) Cross of Lake Charles, La.; one sister, Patricia Rosby of Lake Charles, La.; her grandchildren, Rhonda Hutchinson, Brian Cross, Kaneesha (Zechariah) Selders, Kashawna Hutchinson, Demond Benjamin; 10 great grandchildren; one uncle, a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She also leaves her beloved godchildren, Marvin Jackson, Andrus Cross, Taja Cross and Kiara Celestine.

Wilda was preceded in death by her parents, Allen (Beulah) Cross, husband, Robert Lee Hutchinson Jr., brother, Allen Cross Jr. and sister, Leona Watkins.
