On the early morning of June 24, 2024, in Conroe, Texas, Willie Mae Pryor peacefully transitioned from her earthly home to her eternal rest with the Lord.  Born April 29, 1940, Willie Mae was the beloved daughter of Curley and Alberta Wilrye.

Willie Mae received her early education at Westlake Elementary School and graduated from Mossville High School.  She pursed a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in  Lake Charles, LA.  She married Clarence Pryor, and together they raised three children:  Darrell, Debra, and Derrick, fostering a close-knit family.

For 22 years, Willie Mae dedicated herself to service as an employee of the CPSB, where she cherished her role and the relationships she formed.  Known affectionately as "MaeMae", she extended her nurturing care beyond her immediate family, becoming a mother figure to many.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Curley and Alberta Wilrye; her husband, Clarence Pryor; brothers, Alvin Wilrye and Albert Wilrye; sister, Betty Parker; brothers in law, Preston Washington, Donnie Jackson, Carlton Wayne Sutton, and Gary Goodly; and sisters-in-law, Murlene Wilrye and Caroline Wilrye.

She is survived by her children, Darrell Wayne Pryor, Debra Lynn Jones, and Derrick Sean Pryor;  two brothers, Robert Wilrye and Larry Wilrye; six sisters, Iva Washington, Ova Jackson, Joann Coleman (Rev. Frederick Coleman), Catherine Parsons (Stanley Parsons), Patricia Sutton, and Carolyn Goodly; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.

Willie Mae's life exemplified love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.  She will be remembered fondly for her warmth and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.  Though she will be dearly missed, her loved ones find comfort knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
