Obituary for Willie Daniel Bellard, Sr.

Willie Daniel Bellard, Sr. ("Danny") was born on March 11, 1952, to the late Milton and Mildred Bellard, Sr. He departed for his heavenly home on June 21, 2024, surrounded by family.

Danny lived in Lake Charles, LA, his entire life. He graduated from Washington High School in 1970 and later attended Sowela Technical College, where he obtained an Instrumentation Certification. Throughout his life, Danny held various jobs, but he found the most satisfaction in owning his businesses, Danny’s T-Shirt and Resurrection T-Shirt, alongside his late wife Patsy Bellard.

Danny had a passion for music, particularly Jazz, and enjoyed bowling, fishing, and family gatherings. He was an avid Saints fan and also loved baseball, especially the Houston Astros. Danny dedicated time to volunteering at his church, particularly in the food bank, and was known for his big heart and willingness to help others.

Danny married the love of his life, Patsy, on August 25, 1973. They shared 48 years of marriage and are now reunited in heaven. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patsy, his parents Milton and Mildred Bellard, his sister Rosa “Sunday” Bellard, brother Morris Patrick Bellard, and his twin grandchildren Taylor and Brandon Law.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Angie Davis of Lake Charles, LA; Willie D. Bellard, Jr. (Naomi) of Lake Charles, LA; and Kristi Bellard Law (Phillip) of Houston, TX. His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren: Darrell Davis, Jr. (Alexis), Brea Davis, Pearl Hillard (Keith), Kam’Ron Law, Aaron Law, and Amari Bellard, as well as nine great-grandchildren.

Danny is also survived by nine brothers: Milton “Butch” Bellard, Jr., Robert “Billy” Bellard, Sr., John Wayne Bellard (Lorena), Gerard Bellard (Constance), and David Rene Bellard, all of Lake Charles, LA; and Rufus Charles Bellard, Curtis “C.W.” Bellard, Michael “Mike” Bellard, and Randolph Scott Bellard (Debra), all of Houston, TX. His in-laws. His godchildren, Dana Bellard and Randerick Bellard, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Danny will be remembered for his loving spirit, his dedication to his family, and his unyielding generosity.
